2006 Answer/MSR Racer Contingency Program Rules

1.       Riders already on free product contracts with either Answer or MSR are not eligible for the Answer/MSR Racer Contingency Program. Riders on discount contracts may participate, but qualifying gear purchases must be made from a retailer, not directly from Answer or MSR.

2.       Classes paid will be determined by promoter or sanctioning body for each participating series.

3.       To qualify, you must purchase matching gear (pant, jersey, gloves) from the 2006 Answer Alpha, Alpha Air, Ion, Ion Girl, Answer Mode, MSR NXT, NXT Vented, Revolver, Revolver Cargo, Strike/Renegade, Strike Force, or MSR Starlet Women’s product lines.

4.       Gear may be purchased either at a walk-in dealer or via mail order.

5.       One set of gear purchased allows registration for one class in one series. Registration forms are sent out with series mailers, downloaded from club websites, or obtained at race signup.

6.       Original receipt and registration form for the participating series you want to race in must be sent to Tucker Rocky for contingency points to be awarded.

7.       Registered riders will be sent a coupon pack worth $150 in discounts on Tucker Rocky Products. Coupons can be redeemed at any Tucker Rocky dealer, but NOT via mail order.

8.       Riders will also be sent a one-time order form which allows purchase of up to $200 (after discount) in Answer or MSR casual wear – priced at 40% off retail – directly from Tucker Rocky.

9.       All coupons and casual wear orders must be redeemed by the expiration date.

10.   Riders must compete in a minimum of 60% of the events in a series to qualify for contingency awards. To figure this number, multiply the total number of events by .6, and then round up. For example, a 6-race series requires a minimum of 4 races.

11.   Registration forms must be postmarked no later than the date when only the minimum required races are left in the series. For example, registration for a 6 race series must be postmarked no later than the date of the 3^rd race, no later than the 4^th of an 8-race series, etc. Riders must remember that any races run before the date the registration form is received, do not count toward the qualifying 60%.

12.   Promoters or sanctioning bodies are responsible for providing results to Tucker Rocky. Registered rider finishes will be tracked by our staff after receipt from series organizers.

13.   The Answer/MSR Racer Contingency Program will pay contingency points to registered riders finishing in the top 5 of their class. A minimum of 7 riders must be signed up for a class for it to be eligible. In other words, if at least 7 rider’s sign up for a class at any event in the series, then that class will pay contingency points for the entire series, providing it is included in the list provided by the sanctioning body.

14.   Contingency points will be awarded as follows:

1^st – 25 points
2^nd – 22 points
3^rd – 20 points
4^th – 18 points
5^th – 16 points

1.       Points earned will be tallied at the end of the series and converted to “Race Bucks” at the rate of $1 (retail) per point. Contingency “Race Buck” certificates will be mailed to riders and may be redeemed in person at any Tucker Rocky Dealer for any merchandise distributed by Tucker Rocky.

2.       All contingency “Race Buck” certificates will expire and must be redeemed by the expiration date, or they will be forfeited.

The first season for the Ohio Southwestern Motocross Series was very successful. Tucker Rocky stated it was the largest banquet they had attended for the 2005 season. We would like to thank all of the riders who stuck with us and gave feedback to help us improve the series. In 2006 we will be implementing changes based on this feedback.

The first addition to the series that we are very excited about is our website that is strictly dedicated to this series. The website will be www.oswmxs.com and will contain information about each track, point standings, requirements, sponsor information and more. Another big change will be to the eligibility. This was a topic of discussion for the entire 2005 season. After getting lots of feedback from the riders we have decided to change the requirements. To be eligibile for awards each rider must race 75% of the races and race at each facility once. Any rider attending all 16 rounds will be given 10 bonus points.

As everyone is aware, Kenworthy’s had decided to close their facility and will not be participating in AMA sanctioned events in 2006. The Ohio Southwestern MX Series kicked off their search for a new track as the 2005 season came to a close. To find out what track was added visit our new website at www.oswmxs.com.

In 2005, our goal was to develop a series that riders would be excited about riding. Although, there have been a few bumps along the way we feel that we have reached that goal and this will be proven during the 2006 racing season.

With adding the new track to the list of tracks involved we have maintained the most attractive aspect of the Ohio Southwestern Series which is the location of each facility. The tracks involved have been limited to southwest Ohio with no more than a two hour drive time between the facility farthest north and the facility farthest south. The series will consist of 16 rounds between the tracks with 24 classes eligible for series awards. Each track will hold four races.

The series will continue to guarantee to give part of a rider’s entry fee back to them in series awards. Every time a rider enters a class in the Ohio Southwestern Series a $1 of his/her entry fee will be put into the series awards’ fund. For example, a track draws 400 riders then $400 will be sent to the series awards’ fund. In 2005, the rider fund was approximately $5,000. This fund will grow as rider attendance grows. In 2005 the rider fund along with FS Racing bike give away, Answer/MSR, support and other local dealership support allowed each eligible rider receiving awards in 2005 to walk away from the banquet with one of three MSR gear/tool/helmet bags, tires, goggles, gloves, goggle cases, chain lube, filter cleaner, tie downs, and too many gift certificates to mention. First place received all of this plus a full set of Answer/MSR gear. We are very confident that the 2006 season will grow which will in turn give more back to the riders.

The top 7 positions if eligible will be given series awards in the following 25 classes: 50 4-8, 50 Junior 4-6, 50 Senior 7-8, 65cc, 85 Junior 7-11, 85 Senior 12-15, 85 Extra 7-11, Supermini, Schoolboy, 250f 12-15, 125A, 125B, 125C, 250 A, 250B, 250C, Open, 16-24, 25+, 30+, 35+, 40+, 45+, Girls 52-65cc 7-11, Girls 66 & Up 12 yrs old & Up.

Sponsor response for this series continues to be outstanding. To date the series will guarantee over $15,000 in giveaways. These giveaways consist of helmets, jerseys, pants, gloves, goggles, dealer certificates and more.

Answer/MSR will be donating apparel for each class along with four support rides. Answer/MSR has also included the Ohio Southwestern Series in their contingency program. Riders can get information on how to register on our website.
